It’s time for happy hour and this paloma is calling your name.
But before we get into this cocktail…let me just, say writing this post feels all sorts of strange. It’s been a whole entire year since I’ve posted here. You may notice there’s a new name as well.
You can read more about the *new* allspice here, but I’ll give you the quick run down: I’ll be 100% honest, I needed a tiny break from so much pie. Who knew you could actually have too much pie?? Which ultimately meant “Pies Before Guys” wasn’t fitting any more either. Also…I got married (!!) in February and my new initials are ALL. And so long story short allspice was born. Welcome, I’m glad you’re here!
Now let’s get down to this cocktail business.
We went to Costa Rica on our honeymoon and first of all it was amazing, but second we had so many delicious palomas. So in this strange time while we’re at home, recreating our honeymoon palomas sounded like the perfect thing to do.
These palomas are super refreshing with the perfect amount of sweetness. My husband (still sounds weird to say that) made me use The Rock’s new tequila because he’s been talking about it forever, so he’s pretty happy too.
Alright, grab yourself a few grapefruits and let’s get to work.
Fresh Grapefruit Paloma Cocktails
Recipe makes one cocktail.
1/4 cup tequila (I used Teremana, aka The Rock’s tequila)
1/4 cup fresh grapefruit juice (about half of a grapefruit)
1 tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp simple syrup
1/4 cup club soda
sugar for rim
Prep the glasses: Fill a plate or shallow bowl with sugar. Wet the rim of your glasses but pressing into half of the grapefruit. Then dip glass in the sugar.
Combine ingredients: Fill glasses with ice, then add tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, simple syrup and club soda. Stir until combined. Garnish with a slice of lime and grapefruit.//z-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/onejs?MarketPlace=US&adInstanceId=fed2f90d-1f99-48b4-9efd-959cf4b76b70
