Tomato Basil Goat Cheese Crostini

I love anything on crusty toasty bread: crostini, toast, bruschetta…or any other variation. Ricotta cheese spread on toasted ciabatta, tomatoes on crunchy french bread, something with a little honey drizzle or sliced strawberries. Yes, please.

This combination in particular is my all time favorite appetizer. If I’m being honest, I have 100% had these as an entire meal…on at least two occasions. Once you try it, you’ll understand.

The not-so-secret essential ingredient is the balsamic glaze drizzle on top. It adds a tart (and a little sweet) flavor and really brings the whole crostini together.

This recipe is as simple as it gets. Aside from the yummy balsamic glaze – all you need are fresh tomatoes, a few sprigs of basil (extra credit if it’s from your own garden!), any variation of goat cheese (herbed or classic), and a nice fresh loaf of french bread.

Four east steps:

1. Toast the bread
2. Spread on lots of goat cheese
3. Top with a slice of tomato and basil
4. Drizzle with balsamic glaze
