Happy Friday, friends. I hope you had a lovely week and are looking forward to a relaxing weekend…maybe with this cocktail (or two).
A French 75 combines some of my favorite things: gin and champagne. I am very in to gin and tonics lately, and there is something so lovely about popping a bottle of bubbles. My version of this cocktail incorporates a floral twist by adding lavender to the mix.
This is the first cocktail I’ve made using my homemade lavender simple syrup — and I loved every sip of it. If you haven’t made your own simple syrup before, give it a try! I promise it is extremely easy and nearly impossible to mess up.
The hardest part of making this particular cocktail was figuring out how to make a lemon twist for the garnish. Once you nail that, you’re pretty much set. And bonus…your cocktail looks 10x fancier. I broke down the steps in this video:

I may be at home wearing fuzzy slippers, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have a fancy cocktail and charcuterie board on a Friday night.
I hope your next happy hour also features a refreshing, bubbly Lavender French 75. Cheers!
