Cake pops are delightful mini treats that have taken the dessert world by storm. Originating in the United States, these bite-sized wonders are a favorite at parties, gatherings, and even as sweet indulgences at home.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking pan
  • Parchment paper
  • Cookie scoop or spoon
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Styrofoam block or cake pop stand

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box of your favorite cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 1 cup of frosting (homemade or store-bought)
  • Candy melts or chocolate chips for coating
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Sprinkles or decorations (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Follow the directions on the box to prepare the cake batter, then bake it in a pan that has been lined with parchment paper.
  • Allow it to cool fully.Using a fork or your hands, finely crumble the cooled cake into crumbs.
  • Mix the icing into the crumbs until the mixture resembles dough.Portion out the cake mixture and roll it into balls using a spoon or cookie scoop.
  • As directed on the container, heat the chocolate chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Each lollipop stick should be dipped into the molten chocolate before being inserted into the cake balls.
  • Give them a few minutes to settle.Coat every cake pop entirely with molten chocolate by dipping it in it.
  • Remove any extra chocolate by tapping. Adorn with sprinkles or other decorations while the chocolate is still wet.
  • Place the cake pops upright in a styrofoam block or cake pop stand to set completely.
