- 4 large potatoes (russet or Yukon Gold)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.
In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, melted butter, chopped green onions, salt, and pepper.
Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish. Spread half of the cheese mixture evenly over the potatoes.
Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cheese mixture, creating layers. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
