Chocolate Chip Muffins Recipe

Pinklady
The origins of muffins can be traced back to 18th century England, where they were a popular tea-time treat. The addition of chocolate chips to muffins is a more recent American twist, likely inspired by the invention of chocolate chip cookies in the 1930s. Since then, chocolate chip muffins have become a beloved staple in bakeries and homes around the world.

  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat Your Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line your muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease the cups.
  • Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Combine Wet Ingredients: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Create the Batter: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently with a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the batter should be slightly lumpy.
  • Fold in the Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

  • Bake the Muffins: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  • Cool and Enjoy: Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely. Enjoy your delicious chocolate chip muffins warm or at room temperature.
