  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare Caramel Sauce:
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the granulated sugar until it turns golden brown and forms a caramel syrup.Quickly pour the caramel into the flan mold or individual ramekins, swirling to coat the bottom evenly. Allow it to cool and harden.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare Flan Mixture:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Assemble and Bake:
Pour the flan mixture over the cooled caramel in the mold or ramekins.Place the flan mold or ramekins in a larger baking dish. Fill the baking dish with hot water halfway up the sides of the mold or ramekins to create a water bath.Ca
  • Carefully transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the flan is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
  • Chill and Serve:
Once baked, remove the flan from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Then, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to chill and set.
  • To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan to loosen it, then invert it onto a plate to unmold. The caramel sauce will flow over the top, creating a beautiful presentation.
