Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound (450 grams) of carrots, peeled and cut into uniform pieces
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar (or honey)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Carrots:
    Peel the carrots and cut them into uniform piece
  • Cook the Carrots:
    In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.Add the carrots to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften.
  • Add the Sugar and Water:
    Sprinkle the brown sugar over the carrots, stirring to coat them evenly.Pour in the water and add the salt and pepper.Stir everything together and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  • Glaze the Carrots:
    Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let the carrots cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until they are tender. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
    Remove the lid and increase the heat to medium-high. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the liquid has reduced to a syrupy glaze that coats the carrots.
  • Serve the Carrots:
    Once the carrots are glazed and shiny, transfer them to a serving dish.Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and serve immediately.
