- 2 pounds of beef stew meat
- 1 cup of Belgian ale
- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of flour
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Prepare the Beef: Toss the beef with flour, salt, and pepper. In your Dutch oven, melt butter and brown the beef until it's golden on all sides.
Add Aromatics: Stir in onions, garlic, and carrots. Sauté until the vegetables are tender.
Deglaze with Ale: Pour in the Belgian ale, scraping up the flavorful bits from the bottom of the pot. Allow it to simmer for a few minutes.
Simmer to Perfection: Add bay leaves, cover, and let it simmer on low heat for 2-3 hours until the beef is tender and the flavors meld together.
Serve and Enjoy: Remove the bay leaves, and serve your Grisette hot over a bed of mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
