Equipment

  • Candy thermometer
  • Candy molds or a square baking dish
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 ½ cups of fruit juice (pick your favorite flavor!)
  • 1 tablespoon of gelatin
  • ½ cup of cornstarch
  • ¼ cup of powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, combine sugar and fruit juice over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
  • Sprinkle gelatin over the mixture and stir until it's fully dissolved.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, using a candy thermometer to reach 240°F (soft ball stage).
  • Pour the mixture into greased molds or a square baking dish.
  • Allow it to set for a few hours or overnight.
  • Once set, cut the gumdrops into bite-sized pieces and toss them in a mixture of cornstarch and powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
