Preheat your oven to the temperature indicated on the cake mix box.
Grease and flour your cake pan.
Prepare the cake batter according to the package or your recipe.
Pour the batter into the pan and bake as directed.
Allow the cake to cool completely.
Let the ice cream sit out for 10–15 minutes to soften.
Line another cake pan (same size as the first) with plastic wrap.
Scoop the softened ice cream into the pan and spread it evenly.
Press in optional mix-ins like chocolate chips or crushed cookies if desired.
Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours.
Once the cake and ice cream layers are fully cooled and frozen, place the cake layer on a flat surface.
Gently remove the ice cream layer from its pan and place it on top of the cake.
Smooth the edges with a spatula for a clean finish.
Spread whipped cream or frosting over the top and sides of the cake.
Decorate with sprinkles, chocolate syrup, or fresh fruits.
Freeze the assembled cake for at least 2 more hours.
Remove the cake from the freezer 10 minutes before serving to soften slightly.
Slice with a sharp knife, serve, and watch the smiles unfold!
