The origin of Jungle Juice is as colorful as its flavor. Believed to have been popularized by soldiers during World War II, this drink was initially made with whatever ingredients were available—think fruit, sugar, and a mix of spirits.

Ingredients
  

  • Alcohol: 2 cups of vodka, 2 cups of rum (optional: tequila or gin for extra kick)
  • Juices: 4 cups of orange juice, 4 cups of cranberry juice, 3 cups of pineapple juice
  • Fresh Fruits: 2 oranges (sliced), 2 lemons (sliced), 2 limes (sliced), 1 cup of strawberries (halved), 1 cup of diced watermelon
  • Soda or Sparkling Water: 2 cups for fizz (optional)
  • Sweetener: ¼ cup of simple syrup (adjust to taste)Ice: Enough to chill the punch bowl

Instructions
 

  • Gather Your Ingredients
    Ensure all your fruits are washed, and your juices and alcohol are chilled for the best results.
  • Prep the Fruits
    Slice the oranges, lemons, and limes into thin rounds.
    Halve the strawberries and dice the watermelon into bite-sized pieces.
  • Combine the Ingredients
    In a large punch bowl or pitcher, pour the vodka, rum, and all the juices.
    Add the sliced fruits and diced watermelon.
    If you like your drink sweeter, stir in the simple syrup.
  • Add Ice and Soda
    Add enough ice to the bowl to chill the punch.
    Pour in the soda or sparkling water for a fizzy twist.
  • Stir and Chill
    Stir everything together gently but thoroughly.
    If time allows, refrigerate the punch for about 30 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
  • Serve
    Use a ladle to serve the Jungle Juice into glasses. Garnish with additional fruit slices if desired.
