Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, combine sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar is completely dissolved to create a simple syrup. Let it cool.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice with the remaining 5 cups of cold water.
  • Stir in the cooled simple syrup until well combined.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or water if necessary.
  • Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 1 hour to chill.
  • Serve the lemonade over ice cubes, garnished with lemon slices and mint leaves for an extra refreshing touch.
