- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 6 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)
In a small saucepan, combine sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar is completely dissolved to create a simple syrup. Let it cool.
In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice with the remaining 5 cups of cold water.
Stir in the cooled simple syrup until well combined.
Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or water if necessary.
Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 1 hour to chill.
Serve the lemonade over ice cubes, garnished with lemon slices and mint leaves for an extra refreshing touch.
