  • 4 butterfish fillets
  • 1/3 cup miso paste (white or red)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 1 tablespoon sake
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven: Set it to 400°F (200°C).
  • Prepare the miso glaze: In a bowl, combine miso paste, mirin, sake, sugar, and soy sauce. Whisk until smooth.
  • Marinate the fish: Brush the butterfish fillets with the miso glaze, ensuring an even coating.
  • Bake to perfection: Place the fillets on a baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  • Butter it up: While baking, melt butter in a pan. Once the fish is done, drizzle it with the melted butter for that extra indulgence.
  • Garnish and serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top. Serve with steamed rice or your favorite side.
