Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fillings of your choice (e.g., cheese, vegetables, ham, mushrooms, herbs)

Instructions

  • Add milk, if using, to a mixing bowl after cracking the eggs. Mix thoroughly with a whisk.
  • In a nonstick skillet set over medium heat, add a little amount of butter or oil. Pour the beaten eggs into the hot pan and tilt it to ensure that the mixture is distributed evenly
  • Let the eggs simmer for one or two minutes, or until the edges begin to firm.
  • Spoon one side of the omelette with your preferred contents. Using a spatula, gently fold the remaining omelette in half over the fillings to form a half-moon.
  • Cook for one further minute, or until the ingredients are heated through and the omelette is cooked through. Transfer the omelette onto a platter with caution, and serve it hot.
