Equipment

  • Food processor or blender
  • Mixing bowl
  • Electric mixer or spoon
  • Baking sheet or tray
  • Parchment paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Fork or dipping tools for coating the balls

Ingredients

  • 1 package of Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 1 package (8 ounces) of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 ounces of semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • Optional: sprinkles, crushed nuts, or cocoa powder for decoration

Instructions

  • Crush the Oreo Cookies: Use a food processor or blender to crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs.
  • Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese, vanilla extract, and Oreo crumbs until well combined and a dough-like consistency forms.
  • Form Balls: Scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Chill the Balls: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and let the Oreo balls chill for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  • Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth and fully melted.
  • Coat the Balls: Using a fork or dipping tools, dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Place the coated balls back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Decorate (Optional): While the chocolate coating is still wet, you can sprinkle crushed nuts, cocoa powder, or colorful sprinkles on top for added decoration.
  • Chill Again: Return the coated Oreo balls to the refrigerator and let them chill for another 30 minutes or until the chocolate coating sets.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Once chilled and set, your Oreo balls are ready to be served! They can be enjoyed immediately or stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for later indulgence.
