Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons ice water

Instructions
 

  • In a food processor, pulse together the flour, sugar, and salt until well combined.
  • Add the cold butter pieces and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and ice water.
  • Pour the egg mixture into the food processor and pulse until the dough comes together.
  • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently to form a ball.
  • Flatten the ball into a disc, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the chilled dough and press it into your tart pan.
  • Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
