Crock pot (slow cooker)
Skillet
- 1 pound of thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 8 slices of provolone cheese
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef and cook until browned. Transfer the beef to your crock pot.
In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onions and green bell peppers until they're tender and slightly caramelized. Add them to the crock pot.
Pour Worcestershire sauce over the beef, onions, and peppers. Give it a good stir to combine the flavors.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 4-6 hours. This slow cooking will make the beef tender and allow the flavors to meld beautifully.
About 30 minutes before serving, preheat your oven and toast the hoagie rolls. Once they're slightly crispy, layer each roll with slices of provolone cheese.
Using a slotted spoon, heap the juicy beef, onion, and pepper mixture onto the cheesy rolls.
Serve up your Philly Cheese Steak crock pot creations with a side of fries, chips, or a fresh salad.
