Aluminum foil (optional)
Basting brush (optional)
- 4 sea bass fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup white wine (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare the Sea Bass: Rinse the sea bass fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Place the fillets in a baking dish.
Season the Fillets: Drizzle the olive oil over the sea bass fillets, ensuring they are well-coated. Sprinkle minced garlic, fresh thyme leaves, salt, and pepper evenly over the fillets.
Add Lemon Slices: Arrange the thinly sliced lemon on top of and around the sea bass fillets. The lemon will infuse the fish with a delightful citrus flavor as it cooks.
Optional: Add White Wine: Pour the white wine around the fillets in the baking dish. This adds a subtle depth of flavor and helps keep the fish moist during cooking.
Bake the Sea Bass: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
Garnish and Serve: Remove the sea bass from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy your delicious and healthy meal!
