Equipment

  • A blender or food processor
  • A small saucepan
  • A fine-mesh strainer (optional)
  • A whisk
  • A spoon
  • Two serving glasses

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries (washed and hulled)
  • 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar (or honey for a natural sweetener)
  • 1 cup of milk (dairy or plant-based, like almond or oat milk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional, for added flavor)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Strawberry Syrup
Slice the Strawberries: Chop the strawberries into smaller pieces for easier cooking.
Cook the Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries and sugar. Cook over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. The strawberries will soften and release their juices.
Mash or Blend: Use a spoon or a potato masher to crush the strawberries as they cook. For a smoother texture, blend the cooked strawberries into a puree using a blender or food processor.
Optional Straining: If you prefer a silky texture, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any seeds or pulp.
  • Mix with Milk
Combine: In a bowl or directly in the blender, add the prepared strawberry syrup to the milk.
Add Vanilla (Optional): Stir in the vanilla extract for an extra layer of flavor.
Blend: Blend the mixture for 10-15 seconds until fully combined and frothy.
  • Serve
Chill or Serve Immediately: Pour the strawberry milk into glasses. Serve it over ice for a refreshing treat or as is. Garnish with a strawberry slice or a mint leaf for a decorative touch.
