Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups of whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons of active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and honey. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • Mix in the olive oil, salt, and whole wheat flour. Knead the dough until it's smooth and elastic.
  • Let the dough rise for about an hour in a greased bowl, covered with a damp cloth.
  • Divide the dough into equal portions, shape them into buns, and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Brush the buns with beaten egg and bake for 15-20 minutes until they're golden brown.
