- 1 pound Italian sausage (spicy or mild)
 - 4 slices bacon, diced
 - 1 onion, diced
 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
 - 4 cups chicken broth
 - 4 cups water
 - 3 large potatoes, diced
 - 2 cups kale, chopped
 - 1 cup heavy cream
 - Salt and pepper to taste
 - Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish
 
 
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned.
 Remove and set aside.In the same skillet, cook the diced bacon until crispy. 
Remove and set aside.In a large pot, sauté the diced onion until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Pour in chicken broth and water. 
Add diced potatoes and bring to a simmer. Cook until potatoes are tender.
Stir in cooked sausage and crispy bacon. Add chopped kale and simmer until wilted.
Pour in heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste. Allow the soup to simmer for a few more minutes.
Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
