Butter Garlic Egg Recipe

Pinklady
While the combination of butter and garlic has been a staple in various cuisines for centuries, this recipe pairs it with eggs to create a comforting dish. The buttery richness and garlicky aroma are reminiscent of French and Mediterranean cooking styles, where these two ingredients often take center stage.

Equipment

  • Non-stick skillet or frying pan
  • Spatula
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Small bowl

Ingredients

  • Eggs: 4 large
  • Butter: 2 tablespoons (unsalted preferred)
  • Garlic: 3 cloves, finely minced
  • Salt: To taste
  • Black Pepper: To taste
  • Parsley: 1 tablespoon, finely chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • Red Chili Flakes: ½ teaspoon (optional, for a spicy kick)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Ingredients
Crack the eggs into a small bowl and whisk gently to break the yolks. You can keep the eggs whole if you prefer sunny-side-up or fried eggs.
Finely mince the garlic cloves and chop the parsley if using.
  • Heat the Pan
Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Allow it to melt completely, but avoid letting it brown too much.
  • Sauté the Garlic
Add the minced garlic to the melted butter. Stir constantly to prevent burning, and sauté until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Cook the Eggs
Reduce the heat to low. Pour the whisked eggs into the pan or gently slide the whole eggs if you’re making fried eggs.
Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and optional chili flakes over the eggs.
For scrambled eggs, stir gently until they reach your desired consistency. For fried eggs, cook until the whites are set and the yolks are still runny (or fully cooked, depending on your preference).
  • Garnish and Serve
Remove the pan from heat and transfer the eggs to a serving plate.
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a burst of color and added flavor.
Serve immediately with toasted bread, rice, or as a side to other dishes.
