  • Saucepan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Wooden spoon
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Skillet
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

For the Cheese Puff Buns:

  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

For the Slider Filling:

  • 300g ground beef or chicken (or plant-based alternative)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese (optional)

Optional Toppings:

  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles
  • Slider sauce (mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard mix)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Cheese Puff Buns
Heat the Mixture: In a saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Heat on medium until the butter melts and the mixture starts to boil.
Add Flour: Reduce heat to low and add the flour, stirring vigorously with a wooden spoon until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
Incorporate Eggs: Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl and let it cool for 5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. The dough should be smooth and glossy.
Add Cheese: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly combined.
Shape and Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Use a spoon or piping bag to form small mounds of dough (about 2 inches in diameter) on the sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  • Step 2: Cook the Slider Filling
Prepare the Meat: In a bowl, season the ground beef or chicken with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Cook the Filling: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Add the seasoned meat and cook, breaking it into small pieces with a spatula, until fully browned and cooked through.
Add Cheese (Optional): Place slices of cheddar cheese on top of the cooked meat and let it melt slightly
  • Step 3: Assemble the Sliders
Cut the Buns: Slice the cheese puff buns in half horizontally.
Layer the Fillings: Place a scoop of the cooked meat mixture on the bottom half of each bun. Add lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles, if desired. Spread a dollop of slider sauce for extra flavor.
Top and Serve: Place the top half of the bun over the filling. Serve immediately while warm
