- 2 lbs of chicken (preferably bone-in for added flavor)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 3 celery stalks, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish (thyme or parsley work well)
START: In a large pot, combine chicken, onions, carrots, celery, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper.
Then, Add enough water to cover the ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the chicken is cooked through.
Once that is done, Remove the chicken, shred the meat, and return it to the pot.
In a bowl, mix flour and milk to form a soft dough. Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the simmering broth, creating dumplings. Cover and let them cook until they're firm and cooked through.
After that,Season with salt and pepper to taste, garnish with fresh herbs, and your Chicken and Dumplings are ready to serve!
