  • Rolling Pin
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Frying pan or skillet
  • Pastry brush
  • Fork or crimper

Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup cooked and shredded chicken (boiled or grilled)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ cup mixed vegetables (e.g., carrots, peas, or corn)
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • ½ tsp dried oregano or thyme
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil or butter
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese or mayonnaise (optional for creaminess)

For the Puff Pastry:

  • 1 package of frozen puff pastry sheets (thawed according to package instructions) or homemade puff pastry

For Assembly:

  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Filling
Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Sauté the onions until translucent, then add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
Stir in the mixed vegetables and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add shredded chicken, black pepper, paprika, and herbs. Adjust salt to taste.
Mix in cream cheese or mayonnaise for a creamy texture, if desired.
Remove from heat and let the filling cool completely.
  • Prepare the Puff Pastry
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a floured surface. Ensure an even thickness of about ⅛ inch.
Cut the pastry into equal rectangles or squares, depending on your desired patty size.
  • Assemble the Patties
Place a spoonful of the cooled filling in the center of half the pastry pieces.
Lightly brush the edges with the beaten egg to act as glue.
Place another piece of pastry over the filling and press the edges to seal. Use a fork or crimper for a decorative edge.
Transfer the assembled patties to the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  • Bake to Perfection
Bake the patties in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
