Ingredients
  

  • 1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
  • 1 package (18.25 ounces) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) and coat a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with oil.
  • Place the crushed pineapple and its juice in a mixing dish and mix in the cherry pie filling.
  • Place this mixture equally in the baking dish that has been prepared.Evenly and completely cover the fruit mixture with the dry cake mix
  • .Sprinkle the nuts equally over the cake mix if you're using them.Evenly cover the top of the cake mix with melted butter.
  • Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the edges are bubbling and the top is golden brown, in a preheated oven.
  • Before serving, take it out of the oven and allow it to cool somewhat.
  • If preferred, top warm servings with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
