- 1 ½ pounds of flank steak
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Optional: fresh herbs for garnish (parsley, cilantro)
To make the marinade, combine olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, salt, pepper, oregano, and lemon juice in a mixing bowl.
Make sure the flank steak is evenly coated after placing it in the marinade. To improve flavor, let it marinade for at least thirty minutes.
Set the temperature of your grill pan or grill to medium-high.
To encourage a nice sear, remove the steak from the marinade and blot dry with paper towels.
For medium-rare doneness, grill the steak for five to seven minutes on each side, modifying the cooking time according to desired doneness.
When the steak is done, place it on a cutting board and tent it loosely with aluminum foil. Let it stand for five to ten minutes, then cut it against the grain
If preferred, garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot.
