For the salad:
- 4 ripe tomatoes
 - 8 ounces of fresh mozzarella cheese
 - A bunch of fresh basil leaves
 - Extra virgin olive oil
 - Balsamic vinegar (optional)
 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
 
 
Prepare the ingredients: Wash the tomatoes and basil leaves thoroughly. Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella cheese into 1/4-inch thick slices. Pick the basil leaves and set them aside.
