- 1 can (12 fl. oz.) evaporated milk
- 1 unbaked 9-inch (4-cup volume) deep-dish pie shell
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high initial temperature helps set the crust and filling.
Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. Crack the eggs into the bowl and whisk them with the dry ingredients until well combined.
Add the Pumpkin and Milk: Stir in the can of Libby’s 100% Pure Pumpkin until smooth. Gradually add the evaporated milk, mixing until fully incorporated. The mixture should be well-blended and slightly thick.
Fill the Pie Shell: Place the unbaked pie shell on a baking sheet. Carefully pour the pumpkin filling into the pie shell. To avoid spills, do this near the oven.
Bake the Pie:Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake at 425°F for 15 minutes. Then, reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 35-40 minutes, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool the Pie: Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours. This cooling period allows the filling to set properly.
