Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Pour in crushed tomatoes and stir in dried oregano and basil. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  • Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
  • Once the sauce reaches desired consistency, remove from heat. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Serve hot over your favorite pasta, garnished with fresh basil leaves if desired.
