Ramen Noodles Recipe

Pinklady
Ramen originated in China and was introduced to Japan in the late 19th century. Originally, Chinese wheat noodles were served in a broth, and over time, the dish adapted to Japanese tastes, becoming "ramen" as we know it.

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Frying pan
  • Ladle
  • Whisk
  • Serving bowls

Ingredients

  • 2 packs of instant ramen noodles (flavor of your choice)
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 cup vegetables (spinach, bok choy, carrots, or mushrooms)
  • 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped
  • Optional toppings: boiled eggs, seaweed (nori), sriracha, tofu, cooked chicken, or beef

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Broth
In a medium saucepan, heat 4 cups of water over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the water. Let it simmer for about 3 minutes to infuse the flavors into the water.
  • Stir in the soy sauce and sesame oil. This will give the broth a rich and savory flavor.
  • Step 2: Cook the Noodles
Add the ramen noodles to the broth and cook according to the package instructions (usually 3-4 minutes).
  • While the noodles are cooking, stir occasionally to ensure they don't stick together.
  • Step 3: Add the Vegetables
After about 2 minutes of cooking the noodles, toss in the vegetables (spinach, bok choy, carrots, or mushrooms). Let them cook for the remaining time, allowing them to soften but stay slightly crisp.
  • Step 4: Make the Eggs
While the noodles and vegetables are cooking, heat a frying pan over medium heat and crack two eggs into it.
  • Fry the eggs sunny-side up, or scramble them if you prefer.
  • If you like a soft-boiled egg on top of your ramen, boil the eggs for 6-7 minutes, then peel and set aside.
  • Step 5: Assemble and Serve
Once the noodles and vegetables are ready, ladle them into serving bowls.
  • Top each bowl with a fried or soft-boiled egg.
  • Garnish with green onions and any optional toppings like nori, sriracha, tofu, or cooked chicken.
  • Enjoy your warm, flavorful bowl of ramen!
