Ramen originated in China and was introduced to Japan in the late 19th century. Originally, Chinese wheat noodles were served in a broth, and over time, the dish adapted to Japanese tastes, becoming "ramen" as we know it.

Serving bowls
- 2 packs of instant ramen noodles (flavor of your choice)
- 4 cups water
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 cup vegetables (spinach, bok choy, carrots, or mushrooms)
- 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped
- Optional toppings: boiled eggs, seaweed (nori), sriracha, tofu, cooked chicken, or beef
Step 1: Prepare the BrothIn a medium saucepan, heat 4 cups of water over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the water. Let it simmer for about 3 minutes to infuse the flavors into the water.
Stir in the soy sauce and sesame oil. This will give the broth a rich and savory flavor.
Step 2: Cook the NoodlesAdd the ramen noodles to the broth and cook according to the package instructions (usually 3-4 minutes). While the noodles are cooking, stir occasionally to ensure they don't stick together.
Step 3: Add the VegetablesAfter about 2 minutes of cooking the noodles, toss in the vegetables (spinach, bok choy, carrots, or mushrooms). Let them cook for the remaining time, allowing them to soften but stay slightly crisp. Step 4: Make the EggsWhile the noodles and vegetables are cooking, heat a frying pan over medium heat and crack two eggs into it. Fry the eggs sunny-side up, or scramble them if you prefer.
If you like a soft-boiled egg on top of your ramen, boil the eggs for 6-7 minutes, then peel and set aside.
Step 5: Assemble and ServeOnce the noodles and vegetables are ready, ladle them into serving bowls. Top each bowl with a fried or soft-boiled egg.
Garnish with green onions and any optional toppings like nori, sriracha, tofu, or cooked chicken.
Enjoy your warm, flavorful bowl of ramen!
