  • Baking sheet or pizza stone
  • Parchment paper
  • Skillet (for cooking bacon)
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Oven mitts

Ingredients

For the Pizza Dough:

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Toppings:

  • 1 medium sweet potato, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Garnish:

  • Fresh arugula
  • Drizzle of balsamic glaze

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Pizza Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
Add the warm water and olive oil. Mix until the dough begins to form.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rest for 15 minutes while you prepare the toppings.
  • Step 2: Roast the Sweet Potato
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Toss the sweet potato slices with olive oil, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Roast for 10 minutes or until tender. Set aside.
  • Step 3: Cook the Bacon
Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy.
Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. Once cool, crumble the bacon into bite-sized pieces.
  • Step 4: Assemble the Pizza
Roll out the rested dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface.
Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet or preheated pizza stone.
Spread ricotta cheese evenly over the dough.
Layer the roasted sweet potato slices and crumbled bacon on top.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).
  • Step 5: Bake the Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Step 6: Garnish and Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for 2-3 minutes.
Top with fresh arugula and a drizzle of balsamic glaze, if desired.
    Slice and serve immediately.
