- 2 fresh tuna steaks (6 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Marinate the Tuna Steaks:In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, black pepper, and sea salt. Place the tuna steaks in the bowl and ensure they are well-coated with the marinade.
Cover the bowl and let the tuna marinate in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes. This helps the flavors to infuse into the fish.
Prepare the Grill or Grill Pan:Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan to medium-high heat. Ensure it's properly oiled to prevent sticking. Grill the Tuna Steaks:Once the grill is hot, place the marinated tuna steaks on the grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish. Adjust the time according to your preferred level of doneness.
If using sesame seeds, sprinkle them on the tuna steaks halfway through cooking for a toasted flavor.
Rest and Serve:Remove the tuna steaks from the grill and place them on a plate to rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately. You can pair the tuna steaks with a side salad, steamed vegetables, or a light rice dish.
